A full-time job at MTV News will pay $19.35 an hour, the network announced Wednesday.
The full-timer will have a flexible schedule that allows them to work from home, but will have to work overtime to cover the extra costs.
The job requires a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcasting or related discipline, MTV News said.
The network also announced it is expanding its live streaming service.
It is offering a variety of channels including YouTube Live, MTV Video Music, MTV Movie & TV, MTV Live Extra, MTV Now and MTV News.
The channel will offer original content that will be updated weekly and feature in-depth coverage of live events.
The announcement comes after MTV CEO Phil Hendriks said the network had been forced to make cuts to its programming after a $1.2 billion revenue shortfall in the first quarter.
The new positions are being created in New York, London, Berlin, Vienna and Washington, according to MTV.
