I’m on a job hunt and have been for a while now.
It’s been going pretty well and it’s not just me who’s had success.
But there’s a certain amount of pressure to make sure you can get the most out of your time.
And there’s an issue I’ve found myself in more often than not.
I was a personal assistant for the former Liverpool manager Joe Maddon.
Maddon was at his peak and he was the manager of the best side in the Premier League at the time, and had managed a club that had never won anything.
It was a big club in those days and Maddon would have loved to have been in charge of one of them.
I started out as an assistant for his team in 1995.
I did some coaching and a few signings and then I got the opportunity to come back and manage Liverpool and I did that for a couple of years.
I was doing the coaching side of things and I would have been working a lot on the training pitch and in the office as well.
It was a very rewarding career for me and I’ve been fortunate to be able to build up that relationship with Joe and get the respect from his coaching staff.
Joe said in the past few years, that he’d like to be a full-time manager and that was one of the things that he would like to do.
It would give him a real opportunity to be in charge and I think he would have relished the opportunity.
I think that’s one of his main goals in life.
I’m very fortunate and I’d like it to be the case and that’s what Joe is looking to achieve.
I think there’s definitely a bit of pressure in a position like this because you need to be successful and the people you have to work with, the way they work, what they do, are all very different from each other.
And the whole thing about the job is that it’s about you and what you can do.
That’s what I’ve tried to take into account in my role.
I’d love to be an assistant manager in a club like Liverpool.
I’ve enjoyed it but the pressure is there.
I’m really proud of the people I’ve worked with and the team that I’ve managed.
The Liverpool board are all really passionate about what I do and it gives me a great opportunity.
It’d be really exciting to work under them.
