The number of jobs in the retail giant’s hourly workforce increased to 7.7 million from 7.5 million in August, the company announced Monday.
The jobs report also shows Walmart’s online business is on track to reach record highs.
Walmart said online sales reached $1.7 trillion in 2016, up from $1 trillion in 2015.
In 2016, Walmart’s average hourly employee earned $30.80, the most of any company.
Walton said the company added 7,200 retail jobs during the first quarter, the biggest increase in the company’s history.
